Hazmat & Battery Shipping Policy

1. Carrier & Federal Compliance

All standalone lithium-ion batteries and bulk battery shipments sold by iMobilePart.com are classified as Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods under applicable federal regulations (including US DOT / PHMSA regulations, IATA, and UN3480 / UN3481 standards). In strict compliance with transportation safety laws, lithium-ion batteries must be shipped exclusively via approved ground freight methods. Air freight options (including standard Next-Day Air or Express air services) are prohibited for standalone battery shipments without specialized hazmat certification and carrier approval.

2. Return (RMA) & Hazardous Waste Transport Disclaimer

Customers returning replacement batteries for warranty or RMA inspection are solely responsible for complying with all local, federal, and international hazardous shipping regulations:

No Damaged, Swollen, or Leaking Batteries: Under no circumstances may damaged, compromised, swollen, punctured, or leaking lithium-ion batteries be shipped via standard mail or commercial logistics carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL). Shipping defective hazardous batteries without proper hazmat authorization is illegal and poses severe fire hazards.

Proper Packaging Requirements: Any return shipment containing lithium batteries must be safely discharged below 30% state of charge (SoC), packed with terminal protection (tape over exposed flex connectors), and housed in individual anti-static/fire-retardant padding with appropriate UN hazard labels clearly displayed on the outer package.

Liability: iMobilePart.com assumes no financial, civil, or criminal legal liability for fines, penalties, carrier seizures, or property damage resulting from customer non-compliance with hazardous material shipping regulations. Damaged or unsafe batteries must be safely recycled at a local hazardous waste facility in accordance with local environmental laws.
